I am a professional linguist and teacher. I graduated Portland State University with a B.S. in Psychology/Sociology with minors in communications and linguistics. I also graduated from the US government Defense Language Institute [DLI], Russian course, a precursor to my position as a government interpreter. In the USA, I taught English to immigrants, as well as remedial English to Americans with communication problems. Since 2010, I have taught English full-time online and offline in several countries, both as a private tutor and as a teacher for universities, primary and secondary schools, and other professional agencies. For the past 2 years, I have been teaching English to adult professionals and teenagers in Warsaw, Poland. I do understand some Polish, and that is helpful.



Language is a performance art. My students learn by actively doing. I engage my students in real world, whole English that they can use. It is always my goal to give students the tools they need to succeed in English so that they can build their dreams into reality.
