Hi, I'm John – a native English speaker from the UK. I've spent over 14 years teaching English and working as a translator.



I work with successful adults: entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers and managers. They usually tell me the same thing: "I understand almost everything and I write emails without any trouble, but when I have to speak, I sound simpler than I really am." If that sounds like you, you're in the right place.



The problem is rarely grammar. It's fluency and confidence. The goal is to stop translating in your head and simply talk, the way you do in your own language.



What our sessions look like:

– We talk about your world: your industry, your projects, your interests. No artificial textbook dialogues.

– I correct your mistakes without interrupting you mid-sentence. The conversation keeps flowing, and you still know exactly what to improve.

– After every session you get notes with new vocabulary, corrected phrases and what to focus on next.

– We prepare for real situations, such as client meetings, presentations, job interviews and conference talks.



My qualifications:

– CELTA (University of Cambridge), the international qualification for teaching English to adults

– BA in English Literature and Spanish (University of Manchester)

– MA in English Philology, specialising in translation (Nicolaus Copernicus University, Toruń)

– Diploma in English Law and Legal Skills

– Assistant Lecturer in the English Studies Department at Nicolaus Copernicus University

– 7 years as a translator and project manager at a translation agency. I've translated legal, financial, medical and business texts, so I know specialist English from the inside.



I learned Polish myself as an adult, so I know exactly how it feels to have something smart to say in a foreign language and not be able to find the words. I understand that frustration, and I know how to get past it.



I teach online and in person in Toruń. I work only with adults at B1 level and above who are serious about improving their English.
