About Me

My name is Dan and I am an outgoing, native English speaker from Canada who is currently living in Granada. I am a TESOL certified English teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience, mostly in Poland (9 years) and now in Spain. Moreover, I understand and speak Polish, which I consider to be one of my assets, especially when it comes to teaching lower levels.

Lesson Approach

When conducting lessons I prefer to use a communicative approach as I believe that regular practice speaking English with a native speaker is essential for improving and mastering the English language. Although I used to conduct classes in person, nowadays I only do lessons online. Some of the advantages of online lessons is the possibility to share my screen and instantly share electronic material as well as send notes and corrections made during lessons. Based on the preferences of the student, our lessons may be supplemented with various materials such as coursebooks, articles, videos, grammar exercises, etc.

Active Correction Method

One vital part of my teaching approach is my active and extensive correction of students. Too many teachers ignore errors typically made by students instead of identifying common mistakes and aiding them in correcting those errors. During online lessons I always make sure to actively correct students in the chat and I provide the entire list of corrections (as well as new vocabulary) in the chat after each lesson. 

CAE Preparation

Along with other electronic material, I have a complete PDF book designated for CAE exam preparation. If you happen to be a student who needs to prepare for the CAE exam, we can spend a considerable amount of timedoing preparation tasks from this coursebook.

Homework

I am very eager to give my students homework in order to help them improve their English skills further. Of course not every student is willing to regularly do homework. However, for those who want to go the extra mile. I'm more than happy to assign homework which I will correct during our lessons.

I accept various solutions regarding payments for lessons (PL bank transfer, Revolut, Paypal, crypto currency). Also, I can provide invoices upon request (only Polish bank transfer)
