Native US speaker (artistic/academic/cultural background) wants to teach conversational English to those who already speak basic English, but are eager to pursue the language in order to speak with utmost fluency. I also have experience teaching in demanding circumstances - such as in Sudan at Al Neelain University. I have made television appearances as an anthropologist and possess extensive culturally-related knowledge.
It is important for my students to leave my lessons with a lot of good and positive energy - feeling exited for further lessons. Each lesson is unique and deeply insightful. You are learning even when you think you are not!
More often than not, basic English is not enough and now it is proficiency and fluency that will distinguish you from others. I also speak Polish, but would only resort to using it in the most dire of circumstances. I work with English on a daily basis as I am the main translator for two of Warsaw’s biggest museums and posses several certificates from STP. I also work with other museums, foundations, galleries, experimental theatres, and specific exhibitions (this also includes work on major exhibition catalogs, curatorial texts). This means that my knowledge of academic English is profound. I also write for a well known international magazine that has a branch here in Poland. I would be choosing the subjects for the lessons, unless of course someone has a specific field in mind. I should also mention that I have extensive experience working with children, teaching them from the Family and Friends series. 5/5Agnes jest super nauczycielka! Uczy dwojke moich dzieci, ktore pod jej nadzorem zrobily olbrzymi postep. Jest cierpliwa, kreatywna i bardzo elastyczna. Ma wspaniale podejscie do ucznia, potrafi bardzo trafnie ocenic indywidualne potrzeby i odpowiednio dostosowac swoje metody. Dzieci ja uwielbiaja i czekaja z niecierpliwoscia na kazda lekcje. Dziekujemy Agnes za trud i wysilek, ktory wkladasz w przygotowanie i przeprowadzenie naszych zajec!!!
5/5I am very grateful to Agnes. I can't speak for the others, but I, for one, find her ability to create a balance between interesting and challenging tasks quite splendid. It doesn't really matter whether we discuss a short novel, an article, a pre-agreed topic or just some kind of a social question - time flies like an arrow. Agnes is the only tutor I had whose lessons are really interesting to prepare for. I also wanted to emphasize that she always managed to correct my mistakes pleasantly, but clear enough for me not to repeat them going forward.
5/5Agnes to przede wszystkim pełna profesjonalizmu nauczycielka. Wyjątkowa, wykształcona i bardzo miła osoba. Świetnie przygotowana i pełna pomysłów na tematy do rozmowy. Jej sposób prowadzenia zajęć jest tak dostosowany, aby uczeń jak najwięcej mówił i zapamiętał nowych słówek. Lekcje są unikalne i perfekcyjnie ułożone do wymagań. Zawsze prowadzone w przemiłej atmosferze, która zdecydowanie pomaga w nauce.
