Tony de Jesus

Hi, I’m Tony.

I’m a native New Yorker, a TEFL-certified English teacher, and a writer.

I studied film in college, specializing in screenwriting, and spent a decade pursuing a career in Los Angeles before transitioning to teaching. I’ve now been teaching English for more than ten years.

I’ve worked with students with many different goals—from improving everyday conversation to preparing for IELTS, developing Business English skills and improving their writing.

Outside of teaching, I write, draw and travel. I’ve written a book about story structure for teenagers and I’m currently working on my first novel.

I bring that same interest in language and storytelling into my teaching.

I don’t want my students simply to know more English. I want them to feel comfortable using it.
